and Research Environment
GOAL 7 : Implement Massive Infrastructure Development
GOAL 8 : Implement Massive Information and Communications
Technology (ICT Development)
GOAL 9 : Pursue Outstanding Human and Organizational Development
GOAL 10: Ensure more Efficient and Effective Management and Generation

Comments and Suggestions

Goal No.1

In this goal the University is planning to have a new courses. They are focusing to use new technology for their new courses offered. As what I have noticed we lived in a time of rapid change that is why our University wants a change to aim the first goal which is Pursue in Excellence Instruction.
It is very important that there are new courses offered, so that students can choose want they want to take in their college degree. And now the University choose to have the new courses which involves the use of new technology. The University can aim their goals if they can also sustain the needs of their students and that would be very effective if the student can really perform well by using the new technology. In this situation we can now conclude that there is a teaching learning process done in that particular scenario. Through teaching learning process students can interact towards their goals and incorporate new knowledge, behaviors, and skills that add to their range of learning experiences. That is why we should always bare in minds that even we have an available resources it cant manage without the presence of a student. Technology has long been used as a support for learning, for example, the use of radio, film, film strips, and overheads. During the past several decades, however, the advancement of technology has led to comprehensive meeting and teaching via more advanced technologies.

Goal No.2

When we talk about research it involves investigation to established facts and it is done everywhere as long as you know how to deal with it. Research is very effective when it has a place where you can find very conducive. In this goal the University is aiming to Pursue Excellence in Research, they are now planning to have an effective strategy to achieve this kind of goal. Research for me is quiet difficult without the support of the facilitator. As what I have experienced last few years our school lack some of the resources. And now I am glad that they will create a new centers exclusive for researchers only, in order to have a higher quality of education and maximizing effectiveness, developing and using your talents to the full, being useful as well. For this reason the University can now achieve their goal. Teachers must be treated as true professionals, free to make instructional decisions and to select and apply the most effective teaching strategies for their students. As professionals they are willing to accept full responsibility for the progress of their students if they are accorded the respect, authority, and resources they need to do their jobs in order to achieve the goal of the university.

Goal No.3

In this goal the University is promoting to have an extension. It is good that they will develop this kind of proposal because it will help the students to get involved with the outreach program of the school activities and the students has the right to be part of it. For this reason, extension and outreach program is a way to build student experience and serve extension to other people so that they can compete locally and globally. For me, Pursue Excellence in Extension is designed to improve and enrich the quality of educational programs of the University.

Goal No.4

It is good that our University is concerned to establish the center of energy and environment. For me I suggest to have a Sustainable Energy because it is designed to address the national and global need for energy now and throughout the next generation. The mission of the proposed Center is to conduct comprehensive, interdisciplinary research, education, and outreach programs that, together, result in adequate sources of clean energy in the near-mid and long-term for the largest energy users – electricity generation, transportation, and industrial processes.

Goal No.5
This goal promote student affairs, welfare and success and it is very important because it is an advocacy role for students through the identification and promotion of students and their issues, the education of the community about the evolving needs of students and the development of relevant student policies. Developing successful students the departments within Student Affairs and Services provide the programs that foster holistic development example personal, physical, emotional, cognitive, spiritual, and social), develop and manage the policies that respond to student issues and promote procedures that foster a student centered institution.

Goal No.6

Goal six talks about maximize library and other resource supporting to the teaching, learning and research environment. It will be a great help for the students in order to sustain their needs as one of the stakeholder of the school. In order to have effective teaching promotes active learning. Learning does not ‘happen’ to students and teachers do not ‘deliver’ skills or knowledge to students. New knowledge and skills are acquired when the student actively develops these things within her/himself and with others. Effective teachers create learning experiences that engage the student actively in the process.

Goal No.7

Goal number seven is very important because the University will develop and maintain the essential public infrastructure that will help to student needs. My suggestion is that school must facilitate integration of information resources and knowledge. Increase small group study space, collaborative workspace, and computer teaching space. Improve appearance and functionality with openness, light, noise control, and other environmental improvements. Enhanced quality of services to users due to better managerial practices & efficiencies. In order to have a conducive learning.

Goal No.8

It is very important that we should create new, Open Learning Environments. They have great potential for knowledge dissemination, effective learning and the development of more efficient education services. This potential will not be realized unless these technologies serve rather than drive the implementation of education strategies. To be effective, especially in developing countries, ICT should be combined with more traditional technologies such as books and radios and be more extensively applied to the training of teachers. Education must reflect the diversity of needs, expectations, interests and cultural contexts.

Goal No.9

Our University wants to pursue outstanding human and organizational development. Student and faculty organizations is very important. Because this organization serves as the communication process between the teachers and the students. As a result of this, it will led into a strong relationship between learners and teachers. Our university creates different kinds of organization system that will help the students to become a better stakeholder of the University.

Goal No.10

It is very important that our University ensure more efficient and effective management and generation. In order to have an effective resource management not only impacts profitability by optimizing utilization and minimizing bench time, but when done well, can generate goodwill and loyalty that translate to competitive advantages in recruiting and retaining the best talent. Planning and budgeting is important when it talks about generating a project. The university should provide transparency, so that the students and other stakeholders of the school will know of what happen to the payments they pay in order to avoid conflict and it is also a way of informing and awareness for the students. The right tool must have real-time resource allocation and assignment and long-term staff planning. This visibility is critical to having the resource at the right time for the right project and working on the higher priority tasks.

Obstacle in IT Educational Practice

For me, well known TECHNOLOGY is one of the fastest changing field as compared to other field. Knowing that each individuals are using this kind of technology.
Digital Technology makes informative content easier to find, to access, to manipulate and remix, and to disseminate. All of these are central to teaching in order to have a dynamic process of learning. Through this we can now easily access to the INTERNET to gather some information in order for us to enhance our capability through teaching, Information Technology means that the study , design, development, implementation, support or management of info tech.
Information Technology is a general term that describes any technology that helps to produce, manipulate, store, communicate, and/or disseminate information. That is why IT brings us in the higher educational development, I can say that through this we can easily work with our projects and paperwork's but despite all of these things, we cant deny that their are some obstacles that we encountered.

Obstacle in IT Educational Practice

  • Students were lack of ICT skills.
  • Students had negative attitude towards ICT supported teaching.
  • Students gave negative feedback's on the ICT supported teaching.
  • Certain software was difficult to learn and use.
  • The network connectivity was poor.

Despite of this obstacles, we should be more responsible enough to handle this kind of situation . As a future educator we should know our responsibility that we have the limitation in using new technology to overcome this obstacle, because IT is very essential to us through this, we can explore more information that we need especially to education. For me, IT contributes more in the field of education because now we are using new technology.

New Zealand

Welcome to New Zealand Education where you can learn more about how the New Zealand education system works, and the education agencies that are involved in supporting our education system, helping to deliver a world-leading education system that equips all New Zealanders with the knowledge, skills and values to be successful citizens. This section points to research literature about education with a focus on New Zealand educational research. You’ll find information ranging from statistical surveys to legislation and policy papers, as well as links to research institutions and associations across New Zealand.

New Zealanders are usually quick to embrace new technology . They are the one, who will help to developed the skills and knowledge of their students because they establishes direction for learning and assessment in New Zealand schools through ICT policies and strategies.Provides for flexibility, enabling schools and teachers to design programmes which are appropriate to the learning needs of their students They are encouraging their students to become independent and life-long learners in order for them to relates learning to the wider world with the help of ICT.

Australia

Australia is pioneer for using ICT educational purposes providing the framework for reporting on the student achievement and for the accountability by public schools system. I think it is very important to every students that they should have the knowledge in exploring this kind of education in order for them to have a better learning, because we all know that most of the individuals are now using new technology to enhance their knowledge very well, because they can get more information through this programmed. Addressing ICT equity issues including lifelong learning community access, and reduction of inequities in ICT skill levels between social groups including those living in the rural and remote communities, Indigenous Australlian, mature aged workers, those with disability and disengaged young people.

Malaysia

Malaysia implemented the first computer system, for this reason I can say that they are already engaged in this ICT education, as I read an information they are usually using this programmed in order for them to get some information which is relevant for them, specially those students that wants to explore more in their studies. Not only students benefits this kind of programmed because all individuals are free to used this programmed. It is very essential to those people who have works because they can easily know the information that they want which is related to his/her work. Using ICT to increase the productivity, efficiency and effectiveness of the management system.

Hongkong

Hongkong used the power of ICT to turn schools into dynamic and innovative learning institutions, where students can become more motivated, inquisitive, creative and independent lifelong learners. For this reason teachers are trained at four different levels to become an effective facilitator to his/her students. The teacher will guide the students to play a more active role in learning. In this situation students can easily facilitate their own way of enhancing their knowledge through ICT education because they are now connected to online resources which we all know that we can easily gets information.

Singapore

Singapore are often to used ICT because it is very essential to them. For that, the government sees technology as a key in making student-centered learning and assessment a reality helping to reach the goal of ability driven education. It is very applicable to them that they should used ICT as a tool for their success.

Philippines

Philippines is a developing country in terms of ICT, thus this must be developed. The government should follow the step of Australia which giving emphasis to the five of ICT development of the country. The government should be knowledgeable enough to see how important ICT in Education.

The movie Dead Poets Society is about a group of teenage boys who are split between conformity and learning to think for themselves while attending Wellington Academy. These boys are all highly intelligent and come from wealthy families; however, throughout the movie you see that despite the boys' similar backgrounds, they are all very different and unique people. There is also a definite clash between traditional teaching and the new style of teaching that Mr. Keating brings with him. Charlie Dalton and Cameron are two very different characters in the movie.
It also shows that a teacher takes the chance of over stepping their boundary when teaching students to think for themselves. Keating teaches Todd to just let it out and not worry about what others think. The fathers were the same however, in that they both loved their sons, but did not know how to show it the type of guy that a person can only hope to have as a friend, while, Cameron is the kind of guy that would turn his back on his friends at any time just to save himself. Anderson was the type of parent who just lets his son go and do as he pleases, on the other hand, Mr. Keating mold their students into better people and teach them how to live a better life. Keating's style of teaching is excellent, it keeps students interested and teaches them to think for themselves.
The boy's perceptions of life are quite restricted at the beginning, maintaining their individual identity and their own sense of values, become an ultimate test of survival. The push for conformity and Mr. Keating's teaching procedures, was not only encouraging for the boys to form the concept of "Carpe Diem", but brought on them a whole new contemplation of self-reliance and allowing their "true" feelings to prevail. To think about whether the text truly embraces the philosophy of freedom creates different points of view. This movie helps the student's to have the confidence in valuing their own talents. And I can see that the teacher want'sto help his student's to have a better knowledge to create a wonderful peoetry.

How to Search the Internet Effectively

Search Engines
Internet search sites can search enormous databases of Web pages, using titles, keywords or text. You can maximize the potential of search engines by learning how they work, and how to use them quickly and effectively. The challenge is to ask your question the right way, so that you don't end up overwhelmed with too many search results, underwhelmed with too few, or simply unable to locate the material that you need. As with most skills, practice makes perfect

Getting Started
Before doing a search, it's important to define your topic as completely and succinctly as possible. Write down exactly what information you're looking for, why you're looking for it, and what you're not looking for. This will help you to discover the best keywords for your search.

Keywords
With the exception of search engines such as AskJeeves.com, which will take questions in the form of actual queries, most work best if you provide them with several keywords. So how do you determine which keywords will work best?
Most users submit 1.5 keywords per search, which is not enough for an effective query - the recommended maximum is 6 to 8 carefully chosen words, preferably nouns and objects. (Search engines consider articles and pronouns clutter.) Avoid verbs, and use modifiers only when they help to define your object more precisely - as in "feta cheese" rather than just "cheese."
Now you have your keywords. How do you enter them into the search engine?

Use of Phrases
Your most powerful keyword combination is the phrase. Phrases are combinations of two or more words that must be found in the documents you're searching for in the EXACT order shown. You enter a phrase - such as "feta cheese" - into a search engine, within quotation marks.
Some searches provide specific options for phrases, while others don't allow them at all; but most will allow you to enter a phrase in quotation marks. Check the "Help" files of the search engine you're using to be sure what it accepts.

Punctuation and Capitalization
Most search engines are insensitive to case: you can type your queries in uppercase, lowercase, or a mix of cases. If you use lowercase, most engines will match on both upper and lower case; so for general searches, lowercase is the safest form to use.
Not all search engines handle punctuation the same way. When in doubt, consult the "Help" file.

Boolean Basics
"Boolean" searching (named after George Boole, the 19th-century mathematician who founded the field of symbolic logic) is a powerful technique that can narrow your search to a reasonable number of results, and increase the chance of those results being useful. Boolean searches are simple to learn and tremendously effective. The three most commonly used Boolean commands (or "operators") are AND, OR and AND NOT.

AND means "I want only documents that contain both/all words." For instance, the search "London" AND "Big Ben" AND "Buckingham Palace" AND "Trafalgar Square" would return only documents that contained all four keywords or phrases. AND is the most frequently used Boolean command.

OR means "I want documents that contain either word; I don't care which." The query "London" OR "Big Ben" OR "Buckingham Palace" OR "Trafalgar Square" would return all documents that contained even one of these four keywords or phrases. Use OR to string together synonyms; be careful about mixing it with AND.

AND NOT means "I want documents that contain this word, but not if the document also contains another word." The query "London" AND "Big Ben" AND NOT "Buckingham Palace" would return documents that include London and Big Ben, but not those that also include Buckingham Palace. Remember that AND NOT only applies to the word or phrase that immediately follows it.
Most search engines support the AND NOT command. It is sometimes called BUT NOT or NOT, and is sometimes indicated by placing a minus sign (-) before the term or phrase to be removed. (Check the search tips of the engine you're using to see which form of AND NOT it accepts). Before you apply AND NOT, see what results you get from a simpler search. AND NOT is a great way to weed out results you don't want, such as pornography.

Quick Tips

*Use nouns as query keywords. Never use articles ("a," "the"), pronouns ("he," "it"), conjunctions ("and," "or") or prepositions ("to," "from") in your queries
*Use 6 to 8 keywords per query
*Where possible, combine keywords into phrases by using quotation marks, as in "solar system"
*Spell carefully, and consider alternate spellings
*Avoid redundant terms
*Check the "Help" function of the particular search engine you're using, since they all have their own quirks and preferences

A successful Internet search can take several tries. But remember: it's estimated that there are between 200 and 800 million documents online - with no master system for organizing this information! No wonder effective searches take knowhow, patience and ingenuity.
